We are excited to announce the first event of this kind @duckpond market and everyone is invited! We hope to create a mini vibrant and enriching mind, body and soul event that will bring together inspirational local individuals in the fitness and wellness scene and create real experiences in one place.
Whether you're a newbie or a well-practised yogi, there will be something for you to try out. Each session will be 30 mins long, £5 per person (payment @ Registration desk on the day) and will run from 10am-2pm.
ASILI will be serving gourmet vegan food breakfast and lunch hampers
10:30 – 11:00 Pole mobility and the wild human
Kick start your day and stimulate your senses as we lead you through a fun pole and movement-based session that will reawaken the wild human in you. The pole is an interesting and versatile training device and allows for 1000s of functional movement shapes and play that will promote physicality and whole-body integration. Recommended: barefoot. What to bring: Comfortable Clothing. Poles will be provided. For: 12yrs and above. All fitness levels. Limited to 15 spaces
11:15 – 11:45 – Warrior Barre with Pali Kumari
Explore the beauty of movement through this beautiful symphony that fluidly fuses the grace of dance with the strength of Yoga, the integrity of Pilates and calm echoes of Tai Chi. Warrior Barre offers an intense, full-body workout to strengthen your mind, body and spirit. Recommended: barefoot. What to bring: Yoga Mat. For: 12yrs and above. All fitness levels. No dance experience needed. Limited to 15 spaces
12:00 – 12:30 Yoga Flow with Eleanor
With a strong focus on Foundation and Alignment, connect to your breath and root into the earth and practice with an awareness. Working mindfully and intelligently, flow through the poses and pauses, following your body and mind, coming to a meditative relaxation, to restore and rejeuvenate from your busy, and demanding lifestyles. Recommended: barefoot. What to bring: Yoga Mat. For: 12yrs and above. All fitness levels. Limited to 15 spaces
12:45 – 13:15 – Children’s Yoga with Jelena
Introduce your child to yoga! It is fun and engaging and above all it will help your child develop healthy lifestyle habits. Since we live in a busy, hectic world full of stressors, giving children coping mechanisms such as yoga and meditation is essential for their psychological, as well as their physiological, health. Being a primary school teacher I see the daily stressors that children have to contend with and the benefits of doing yoga with the children are numerous. From personal experience I’ve seen how it has helped the children in my class with their concentration, focus, social skills and perseverance. Recommended: barefoot and comfortable clothing. What to bring: mats will be provided. For: children aged 4 years up to 11
